  1. The green chile has met it's perfect mate - bread dough.

Posted by Susan Shonk, Plano, Texas on 24th Oct 2011

My husband and I recently took a trip to Albuquerque and visited the bakery for the first time. We had coffee and pastry for breakfast (which was wonderful) and took home a loaf of the green chile bread. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Not only does the bread make for an amazing sandwich, it makes a great base for thick french toast stuffed with chorizo and cheese, a savory bread pudding and it makes the most amazing croutons for salad and soups and I can't wait to try it as a base for stuffing. Versatile, delicious and completely addicting.

  2. When I first tasted it, I caught the little kick of chile. Yum!

Posted by Heather MacNeil on 5th Nov 2009

This bread is simply delicious! When I first tasted it, I caught the little kick of chile. Yum! It's not too hot and not too mild. Perfect for a transplant from the north like myself who is in love with green chile. The bread is beautiful also, quite aesthetically pleasing. Tastes great warm with a bit of yogurt-sweetened margarine

My boyfriend got his bread on Friday, two days after I spoke with you. So you were right, the post office really does work fast! And already his friends are asking him where he got the bread because it was so good and tasted like it was literally just taken out of the oven!

Thanks again for taking extra time with me and my order and I'll talk to you soon!

  7. Your biscochitos and green chile bread are absolutely delicious!

Posted by Sandra Cowan on 5th Nov 2009

I just wanted to let everyone know that the green chile bread makes wonderful croutons. After my bread was a few days old, I cut the remainder into thick slices, brushed them lightly with olive oil, sprinkled them with garlic powder, cut them into cubes about 3/4 to 1 inch square. (Toss to distribute the oil and garlic to the cut sides or brush on a little more oil if desired.) Then I put the cubes on a large pan lined with foil, and put it into a preheated slow oven (225 degrees). Let them bake until they are crispy on the outsides, stirring them one or twice while baking. I left mine in the oven about 45-50 minutes. Let cool completely in the pan; then store in zip lock bag. Delicious in soups and salads (even for snacking)!

Your biscochitos and green chile bread are absolutely delicious! Thanks!
    Sandy
